Hi I'm Alyssa Johnston

I was born with clubbed-feet. I play tennis. I'm an avid One Direction fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a freshman at Brigham Young University studying Business Marketing. I come from a "tennis" family and absolutely love playing the sport. I have 4 siblings and I'm an aunt of two. I love listening to music and attending concerts. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have been raised in this church since I was born and I am forever grateful for the testimonies of my mother and father to influence me to gain my own.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was born I was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However, it wasn't until a few years ago where I considered myself a "Mormon." I was influenced by my parents to find a testimony of my own. So, I read the Book of Mormon. When I finished, I felt so much peace and comfort- more than I have ever felt in my life. I prayed to Heavenly Father to know for myself if this is the true church. The answer came, telling me through the Spirit, that I had always known. This confirmation changed me. I was so torn over if I had known for myself when I was living and growing up in the church, already gaining my own testimony to begin with. This church give me so much comfort, acceptance, and reassurance of the future. I will continue to Follow Christ through living this gospel in and out.

How I live my faith

Since moving to Provo and just starting college, I was put into a new ward and a new environment. I was just called to a meeting and activities coordinator for the girls in my hallway. This calling has helped me grow closer to the Daughters of God, creating a strong relationship with them along with planning fun and wholesome activities for us. I am also a visiting teacher with my roommate to two sweet girls in my Hall. This has given me the opportunity to create lasting relationships and to grow closer to God through the lessons, help, and service provided for these girls.
