Hi I'm Derek Hill

I'm growing up in Provo, Utah. I like music, I like movies, I like art, I like food, I like culture, and I like being a Mormon

About Me

I'm currently obtaining an education at Brigham Young University, studying whatever it is I decide on studying. I love making music almost as much as I love listening to it. I'm a skier and a hiker and an eater and a night owl and a traveler and a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've felt the still, small voice of the Holy Ghost testify to me that every single precept, principle, and doctrine that I've learned from this church and from the Book of Mormon has done nothing but help me feel happiness in this life and hope for the life to come. I know I have a Father above who loves me. I know He sent His son to suffer and die for me and for every single one of my spiritual brothers and sisters, so that we may come to live again as a big ol' happy family in the next life. I know He restored His full gospel to us in these modern times so that we can feel the fullness of His love for us now and forever more, as well as help those around us and those who came before feel that same love. I love that. And I love this church.

How I live my faith

Be an example of the believer! I try to love everyone, and that's hard sometimes, but I'm workin' on it. I try to follow Christ's example, and usually I forget to, but he lets me try again, and I appreciate that.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Derek Hill
We pay tithing because our Father has given us everything we have, and he asks us to show our faith by giving some of that back. He has promised us uncountable blessings for doing so, so if we have complete faith in the promises of God, we can give with the hope and assurance that we are not really losing anything, but in fact gaining much, much more.
