Hi I'm Dillon

I'm a Mormon. I'm an amateur guitarist. I was raised in Utah.

About Me

I was schooled at home and self educated all throughout my early life. I took interest in speaking and debating as well as in the fine arts. I participated in Ballroom dance for 4 years and taught dance during 2 of those years. I'm an amateur guitarist, preferring classical and acoustic guitar. I love playing arrangements from retro video games and the Elder Scrolls series, but hardly play video games themselves. Reason being I'd rather be outside hiking or camping. I love the Book of Mormon and I could talk about it for a long time.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in the middle of my teenage years, I found myself feeling abandoned, hopeless, and depressed. Life seemed unreal to me, like I was living in a dream. I floated purposelessly for a little while. As an assignment for my seminary class I began to read the New Testament. The teachings of Jesus Christ offed comfort, hope, and purpose in my life. I became friends with Christ. I quickly finished the New Testament, and began reading the Book of Mormon. I watched myself change. Poor self-esteem turned to confidence. Sorrow turned to joy. Insecurity to strength. My eyes were opened. I knew there was a God in heaven who loved me personally and that I was his Son. The Book of Mormon had to be true. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm currently preparing to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Northern California. As I am preparing, I find joy in visiting with local members of the church and teaching them about Jesus Christ and His gospel. I love reading the Book of Mormon every day. I like learning from the examples of people in that book, drawing parallels between them and myself.
