Hi I'm Ema Fuifui

I am for Australia but my heritage is Samoan. I will be leaving for my mission in Apia Samoa and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in Brisbane Australia my whole life however I was born in Melbourne Australia. I am of Samoan heritage in which my parents were immigrants to Australia. I studied 3 years of primary school education as my goal after school was that I wanted to be a middle school teacher. I have now deferred my education to serve a full-time mission in the Samoa Apia Mission. I have been playing the piano since I was 9 years old. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because to be honest I was born in the church. However we all come to a point in our lives where we must find out for ourselves if it's the truth. I was able to learn it for myself as my parents weren't always going to be there to teach me right from wrong. I was able to think about all of the things I had been taught from my home and at church if they be right. It's not easy at times coming from a Polynesian background where it's part of the culture to go to church no matter what. So at times we can be floating around to what our parents may say but actually not applying it for ourselves and seeing the happiness it can bring you individually. A conversion is a personal thing and I find that we can't be living off of someone elses conversion for the rest of our lives. Finding the truth for ourselves and receiving the answers directly to us is truly an experience that you will never forget. I share with you my testimony today that I know that God lives. I know His son Jesus Christ is the Saviour. Meaning He is the only person that can save us from in this life. I know that we have a living prophet Thomas S. Monson who still speaks with God today and receives revelation and counsel for His children. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is restored back on this Earth through Joseph Smith. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and testifies of Christ just the way the bible does. They are two witnesses of His ministry and His saving grace for all mankind who walked upon this Earth. I know that families can be together forever. Our family relationships can continue beyond the grave. Therefore we always have reason to rejoice for we can see them again. They are only gone for but a moment for through Christ we can live with them and embrace their faces again.

How I live my faith

I participate in the community by providing the music. I've been the church pianist since I was 15 and I felt I have improved my talent so much because the bishop always encouraged me to use my talent. I was also able to use my music talents with the children by providing them with the music. After I was released from that calling I was called to serve in the youth as a leader for the girls between ages 12-13. This group is called the Beehives. I enjoyed serving and helping them. Not only did they grow however it helped me grow too as a person.
