Hi I'm Vanessa

I am kind and outgoing. I love learning, reading, and traveling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest daughter of three siblings. I grew up in West Valley City, Utah. Growing up I spent most of my time cheerleading and attending school. I attend the University of Utah while studying Chemical Engineering. I am hoping to potentially become a pharmacist in the future. I am preparing to serve a misson in Arizona, which I am very excited about. Much of my free time is spent reading, cooking, and participating in fun activities with friends and family. I would like to get married and start a family of my own when I finish school and start my career.

Why I am a Mormon

I fell away from the church for about ten years after being baptised when I was eight years old. About a year ago, I decided to take a class at the institute building between other classes at the Univeristy because I wanted to learn about Christ. After just a few classes, I feel in love with the stories of the scriptures and knew I needed to make a change in my life. After becoming more active, following the commandments, reading the scriptures daily, and praying to God my life has been blessed in so many ways. The teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has made me a better person than I would have been otherwise. There is nothing better I can do with myself than prepare for a mission to help others become as happy as I am today.

How I live my faith

I carry myself with the selflessness of trying to be like Christ. On a daily basis I am kind to the people I encounter and try to help others as much as possible. The church is built off of love and family so I spend time with my family and often express my appreciation towards my parents for everything they have given to me in my life. Reading the scriptures daily, paying tithing, and following the commandments bring me blessings and happiness every single day. It keeps me progressing towards the best person I can be and learning something new all the time. Much of my time spent at church is listening to lessons prepared by the other women and planning lessons of my own. I love knowing that God loves me and all of my heavely brothers and sisters, it brings me peace in my life knowing that he has a plan, and I am following it with the best of my abilities.
