Hi I'm Kathleen Pratt Hyde

I am the mother of one amazing daughter, and three outstanding stepsons. I love to quilt. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My father was a college professor, and my mother a stay at home mom. Education was important in our family, so all of us kids graduated from college. Money was tight growing up, so my mother taught my sister and I to make our own clothes. I still love to sew, but now I make quilts to share with my loved ones. When I was 7 years old, my family moved from California to Brazil for a year. I learned to love the Brazilian culture, people and food. As a young adult, I traveled to Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua and Honduras as a missionary. As an adult, our family lived in the Middle East for 4 years, and we love the culture, people and food! I love to travel!

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to being born into a family that had been Mormon for several generations. My parents made church a priority, setting examples to us kids by living the gospel in every aspect of their lives. I gained my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ as a teenager, and have continued to follow His gospel since then. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon, A Second Witness of Christ, is the most correct book on earth. I am so grateful to be a Mormom!

How I live my faith

I love to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ! I have taught children, youth and adults, but my favorite is teaching the women of the church. Now that we are empty nesters, my husband and I are excited to serve a mission together.
