Hi I'm Emily

I was born and raised in the heart of Utah. I love studying the art of story telling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of four kids. Growing up I was a gymnasts, and today my favorite sport is skiing; there is just something about rushing down a snow covered mountain that I love. I am currently studying to be an English teacher in secondary schools; I have always been fascinated by the elements of stories and what makes them timeless.

Why I am a Mormon

There is a very special feeling of calm that comes over me when I read the Book of Mormon and when I think of, and study the life of the prophet Joseph Smith. This feeling of calm has testified to me that the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God that was translated by Joseph Smith through divine power. I have come to know for myself that the words of the scriptures and our current prophet and other leaders are directed from God to help each one of us. It is this knowledge that drives me to serve a mission.

How I live my faith

Lately I have participated in my religious community by assisting with the organization of, and helped carry out a girls camp for the young girls in our area. At this camp, the girls were not only able to learn about and appreciate the beauty of nature (and how to survive it's harsher side), but they were able to draw closer to God and their peers. I have loved the opportunity to serve and better come to know these young girls. I am currently serving a mission in Ukraine.
