Hi I'm Heather

I'm a Mormon. I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in the Norway Oslo Mission!

About Me

I have spent the predominant part of my life is Sheridan, Wyoming. It will always be my home. I grew up with farming and family. My life has been truly blessed. I love my family more than words can express. Right now I serving my mission in Norway Oslo, I don't know how I could be so lucky! I love running and baking (chocolate chip cookies are my favorite). Music is my passion. I love playing my flute. I also love my 8 month old nephew Henry, he is the cutest child I've ever seen in my life. But MOST important. I'm a Mormon. I love my Savior, His atonement, His mercy, and His eternal plan for me. I love the covenants I can make with the Lord in his holy temples, the opportunity to redeem the dead, and hasten the work of salvation. I know that my He has a plan for me. His gospel has brought me so much joy in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel. It is good for my soul. I am a Mormon because this is the church of God. It was restored by a prophet of God, Joseph Smith. I am Mormon because it is when I am living the gospel, feeling the spirit, serving my fellowmen, attending the temple, that I find the most joy. Not that type of happiness that comes from a good joke or a funny movie, but the joy that comes from overwhelming happiness. The type of joy that never leaves your face and sinks into your very being. Without this gospel, right now, I would be so incredibly alone. But I am never alone because My Savior, my ward, and my institute are there for me, and for that I am so incredibly grateful.

How I live my faith

I decided at one point in my life, I'm either going to life the gospel entirely or I'm not. I chose to live the gospel, and I try to give it 100%. I strive to diligently attend meetings, go to activities, make wholesome friends at my university, and watch wholesome media and entertainment. I try to make the temple a priority and serve my fellowmen. I am NOT perfect. I am so far from it. But I know that if I give it my best effort, if I try to be obedient and live the Lords commandments he will bless me.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

As a woman of this church. I do not feel the need to hold the priesthood. It is not of my divine nature. My role in this life is the sacred responsibility of being a mother. This duty is so sacred that some women never get the opportunity to experience it. Men and women are equal in the church and in God's eyes. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Family is essential to God's plan of happiness. I love my family more than anything in the world. Half of my family is not members of the church. Although at many times in my life that has been a struggle, I know that the Lord gives us no more than he can handle. I would never trade my family for the world. I know that through the power of the gospel and the restoration I will be sealed with my family for time and all eternity someday. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Obedience brings blessings. If you want to know your father in heaven all you have to do is accept him. The Good Shepard will find you, no matter where you are in your life. If you want an answer from the Lord search it out. Search out a way to find him. Don't expect holy messengers to open up the heavens and give you an answer. Rely on the spirit, it will guide you.
