Hi I'm Milford (Jim) Maynard

I'm Mormon. Having grown up in East Kentucky where there was no church. I converted after long and hard research and prayer.

About Me

I was raised in abject poverty in Appalachia. I had a serious problem understanding the concept of Trinity in the several faiths my parents shuffled us between. I converted in 1980 after long research and much prayer. One simple thing proved to me that this is the true restored church with authority descended directly from Jesus Christ. That issue was that after all my extensive research and investigation, the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the ONLY faith that gave me simple, understandable and logical answers to every question I had.

How I live my faith

Attending ward meetings is NOT the only thing I feel our Father expects of us. He mentions the 'works' in the scriptures at least three times more often than by his Grace. Volunteering and becoming involved in improving others lives is what I have tried to practice since my baptism.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Milford (Jim) Maynard
Christ's atonement was not just for us today but for all our ancestors and those before Christ's death. His sacrifice gave each of us and THEM the opportunity, through Him, to return to the presence of God the Father and Jesus Christ in the Celestial Kingdom. Without His coming and His atonement, we would be lost. We were lost, but now we are found. Show more Show less
