Hi I'm Zan

I'm the youngest child with three older sisters, and I've lived in four different states. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love kayaking and paintball, but most of all, I love physics. I leave in December on a church mission to Brazil. I don't speak any Portuguese, but I'm excited to learn and to meet new people. After my mission, I will be attending Brigham Young University and majoring in Physics. I love spicy food, more specifically spicy Mexican food. In high school I played volleyball and soccer. I wasn't very good at either sport, but I had fun and that was enough for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and a lot of people assume that is why I'm active in the church now, but that's not true. I'm a Mormon because I have studied the scriptures and prayed to know whether they were true. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, I know that Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a modern day prophet called by God to translate it. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He atoned for my sins. He is my Lord and Savior and without His help and atoning sacrifice, I would not be able to return and live with my Father in Heaven. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's true church on the earth today and is led by a living, modern day prophet who was called by God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to become a better person each day. The Lord expects a lot from us and nobody is perfect, but through the atonement of Jesus Christ I know that each day I can become a better person and grow closer towards living as He would want me to. I try to always listen to the promptings of the holy spirit to help guide me and to know how best to help others around me.
