Hi I'm Shilah

I love music, the outdoors, and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born in Utah but I'm an Idaho girl at heart who loves swimming, hiking, camping, and just being outdoors. I enjoy playing and watching most sports. Music is a huge part of my life and I play the violin and some piano. I love my family and they are all very important to me. I love doing family history work and taking my family names to the temple. I enjoy spending time with friends, meeting new people, and trying new things. I am serving a mission in Montreal Canada and then I plan on going to BYU-Idaho to start studying to become a midwife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but I continue to follow His gospel because my testimony and my relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior has grown and become so strong over the years as I've learned from my mistakes as well as others'. A few years ago, after a big move, I did not want to go to church anymore because I didn't feel loved or welcome by the people in my ward. I fought with my parent about not wanting to go but eventually I learned that I needed to go to church every week for myself and to build my testimony and my relationship with God and Jesus Christ. Because of my decision to continue going to church for myself, I have become so much closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and my testimony has grown so much. The reason I continue to attend church and follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ, even though most of my family does not attend, is because I have personally felt the love of God in my life. I know with my whole heart that this is the true church and gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ died for me so that I can return to be with Him and God for all eternity. I am so grateful for this gospel and for the leaders and teachers that have taught me and helped me along the way. I'm so extremely grateful for my family and especially my parents who have always been there for me. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior more than anything and I know that this is His true church!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in Montreal Canada and I love being able to wear the name of Jesus Christ on my chest and continually being an example to others. I have grown to deeply love all the people that I am serving and that I serve alongside with. Constantly testifying of the things I know to be true is one way that I have the opportunity to share my faith with others.
