Hi I'm Donnie

I love baseball, hockey, and football. Just graduated highschool. I report to the MTC for a mission in November. And I'm Mormon

About Me

I am 19 years old and I live in northern Minnesota. I played baseball and football for most of my childhood and teenage years. I never played hockey on a team, but I love it and go to the ice rink just about everyday with friends and family. I graduated in 2016 and I'm going on a mission to Michigan in November. I love to eat. I eat when I am bored, I eat just for fun, and I eat when I am sad and happy. I have no idea how I'm still skinny with all the food I put into my body. But I will take it while it lasts. After my mission I plan on trying out for the baseball team at BYU Provo. No idea what I want to study in college but I have four more years to figure that out so I'm not worried yet. I'm the oldest of six and that's everything about me in a nutshell.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but most of my life I have had my parents testimony. As I have been getting ready to serve a mission I have gotten my own testimony of the church. I know it is true and I know that blessings come from following Christ and keeping the commandments.

How I live my faith

I don't really know how I live my faith. I guess I go to church and read my scriptures and pray. And I do my best to keep the commandments. Honestly though it's something I have been doing for so long that I really don't think about any of it because it's natural. All I know is the gospel makes me happy and I want to spread it once I go on a mission.

What is being a Mormon like?

Donnie
Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a life style. Being a "Mormon" is like choosing a plan that will make you happy forever. There are other things in life that can make you temporarily happy. But choosing to live the standards of the church brings eternal happiness. You don't just live the standards on Sundays when you go to church. It's a life style that should be lived everyday. For me being a "Mormon" is a challenge. It's not an easy path to take. But as you live the standards and use the atonement in your life trials become learning experiences. Living the gospel may not be easy, but it definitely makes trials easier to overcome. As you choose to live a lifestyle of being "Mormon" it will bring more joy to your life than you could ever imagine. Show more Show less
