Hi I'm Susan

Family relationships are most important to me in life. I also love thunderstorms, lilacs, fishing, and Scrabble. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Although I was born in Utah I grew up in Southern California. I was a beach bum as a teenager and worked at Disneyland as a PBX operator the year before I went away to college. While attending college I met the love of my life and we have since raised four great kids and now have 13 beautiful grandchildren. I have experienced many of the joys and sorrows life can throw at us and I remain grateful to be alive. I love to travel and I have seen much of this beautiful world. Still, nothing compares to the simple joys of family and the beauty of nature. I am happiest when I am with family in "my own little corner, in my own little chair," to quote the movie "Cinderella". I have recently been diagnosed with a degenerative disease so my future has a cloud in it but I remain optimistic that I still have much to contribute to my family and the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because all of it's teachings resonate with my soul. I have found light and truth here.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed serving the members of my church as a leader in the children, youth, and women's organization for many years. My favorite place to serve is with the children. Teaching children about God and His love for them is especially gratifying and something that I have felt throughout my own life. There have been so many opportunities to help others in need which I would never have been aware of otherwise.
