Hi I'm Devon Owens

I am from Arizona. I have been a member of the LDS Church all my life. I am currently serving in the Ghana Cape Coast mission.

About Me

I have many experiences in my life that have shaped who I am today. Because of my knowledge of the gospel I would not want to take away any experiences I have had. I love this gospel. I enjoy going out with friends, social gatherings, and getting to know individuals. I have hobbies and things I enjoy to do just like anyone else. I participated in many athletic programs in my high school years. I believe that hard work and dedication is the key to success. I believe that the principles of Christ's gospel can improve the quality of anyone's life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon or "LDS" Church. I have always been taught the principles of this gospel. In my high school years I wondered if this church truly is everything my parents have taught me it is. In my time preparing to come onto my mission I decided to put myself into the shoes of a nonmember. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed so sincerely to know if it is the Word of God. I received my answer through the power of the Holy Ghost. Which is the only way anyone can know God's truth. It was a feeling and an experience that I cannot deny even if I wanted to. It is just something so real to me. Even more real than things I have seen.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the LDS Church has made me who I am. Coming closer to Christ and striving to live His gospel as best I can has blessed me more than I can express. I could not imagine going through life without the knowledge that I have of my Savior. Currently, I am devoting two years of my life to serve the Lord in Ghana, Africa as a missionary.
