Hi I'm Taylor

I grew up in Utah. I enjoy being outside. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 6 kids. My family loves to spend time together playing games or being outside. We enjoy going backpacking, mountain biking, boating, and hiking. Being surrounded by nature allows us to feel the love of God more fully. As a family, we enjoy going on vacations and spending that quality time together. Currently, I'm a freshman in college which has been quite the adventure. I've enjoyed studying a variety of subjects as I learn more about what I'm interested in. During my first semester, I received a mission call and will be taking a year and a half break from school to serve. I couldn't be more excited for this new opportunity. I love to play the piano and really enjoy music. I love to use music to express how I feel and to share my love with others. I taught piano for three years before I graduated high school and that was an amazing opportunity to share something I loved with the younger children in my neighborhood. I also enjoy running and the competition associated with it. I just ran my first half-marathon which was awesome! The thrill that is associated with running is crazy awesome. I am constantly amazed with the ability my body has to complete such a rigorous activity. Running and participating in sports have helped me to enjoy trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I am a Mormon, but a few things in particular stand out to me. I've always known that God is our Heavenly Father and that he loves us. This knowledge has been a great strength to me in times of trial, it is very comforting. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I have prayed and came to the knowledge that he suffered, died, and was resurrected for each one of us. Because of this, I have the faith to continue everyday. I know that I can be forgiven for my sins and that my Savior will help me to become more like him. I choose to follow the gospel because it brings me happiness. Through the gospel, I've been able to develop meaningful relationships with my family and friends that strengthen me. The gospel has taught me how to love and to see the good in the world around me. I've chosen to be a Mormon because it gives me purpose in life and has increased my understanding of what is really important in this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in a Women's organization that provides service. We look for those who may be struggling and strive to help them in any way we can. Our service isn't limited to just the women in our organization, but rather, we look to serve anyone who may need help or just an uplifting smile. I am preparing to serve a eighteen month mission where I will share the message of our Savior Jesus Christ with all those I come in contact with. I am excited to teach others about my beliefs and what makes me happy. I am enrolled in a Mission Preparation classes that help me to practice teaching and to more fully learn the doctrine that we, as Mormons, believe. This class allows me to practice teaching, planning, and prepares me for all aspects of missionary life! On a daily basis, I live my faith by reading the Book of Mormon, praying to my Heavenly Father, and looking for ways that I can improve in my life. Through these things, I am able to draw nearer to our Heavenly Father and realize how he blesses me every day.
