Hi I'm Seth Dey

I was born a Christian and went to a United Methodist Church and college. I play soccer. I am a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college graduate from a small D2 University where I studies Mathematics, Physics/Engineering and Computer Information Systems. I played baseball until my senior year of high school and soccer throughout college. I love every sport and can't wait to teach my future children how to play one day. I have a younger brother and younger sister who both played sports at college as well! I love to play disc golf and have actually created a course myself at my dad's work property.

Why I am a Mormon

The summer before the senior year of college I was given the Book of Mormon by a friend who wrote her testimony in it for me to read. Before I got into anything that I didn't know I got back into reading the Bible to re-familiarize myself with that collection of books. I also started to follow the Word of Wisdom, which is a fantastic health code, because I was beginning my preseason of my senior year of soccer at college. I felt stronger than ever because of the Bible and the Word of Wisdom and I knew something good was going to come because of that. Soon after my coach called me into his office and offered me a scholarship to play just for my senior year to a school that I've already committed to; so I knew exactly where those blessings were coming from and thanked the Lord. I took the next step and called the missionaries myself to meet them and ask them questions I had in a booklet. After meeting them for a little bit I actually got blessed with a double scholarship which I verified with the financial aid office and it was real. I knew the Lord was blessing me for what I was looking in to. The moment I knew the Book of Mormon was true was when I was reading in 2 Nephi 29:12-13 that talks about how God will speak unto all of His people and they shall all write it. It made sense that God would do that; He wouldn't not speak unto a group of people whom were worshiping him because they weren't in Israel. At that moment the Spirit came over me and told me that it was true.

How I live my faith

I am currently a missionary where I serve people in communities where I am based. When I serve others, that is when I find out more about myself than anything else. I love to help out in different groups of kids when I am asked. Reading scriptures each and everyday coupled with daily prayer is what brings me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ, than nearly anything else.
