Hi I'm Conner Wilson

I love movies, I play the guitar, and I like being funny. I served a mission in Paraguay. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family that consists of many faithful members of the church. My dad served a mission in Korea and comes from a long line of Latter-Day Saints that dates back to the time of the Mormon pioneers. My mother has lived as a member of the church for her whole life, and was married and sealed for time and all eternity to my father in the temple in 1994. I served as a missionary in Asuncion, Paraguay, and I currently attend Brigham Young University. I have been to thirty of the fifty states, and I love music, movies, and books. When I say I love movies, I really mean it, though. I've seen more movies than I can even remember, and the art of film and filmography is something that really interests me. I see great value in film as an art medium. I also enjoy making others laugh, and I spend much of my time in deep thought and contemplation. I loved the people I served in Paraguay with all my heart, and consider it a second home.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have felt the spirit of the Lord testify unto me that it's what I need to be. I have seen with my physical and spiritual eyes the change of heart that comes with a conversion to the gospel. I've felt it and I know it. I can't deny it in any way, because I have had it confirmed to me time and time again. I see the hand of the Lord in my life every day, and he leads me and guides me along even when I kick and scream and pout and don't want to go along. I feel no more doubt, no more fear, and sadness is really only a fleeting moment in the grand scheme of things, for me. Honestly, I can't say that I haven't had moments, especially in high school, when temptations and doubts and other things didn't cause me to question my faith. What say now is not only how I feel or what I believe, but what I know by experience, and by trial and error. I know that this is the only true church. Christ is a real being and I will live my whole life in his service. It brings me happiness, and I really know that it is the only path to true happiness that can exist, has existed, or ever will exist- in this life or the next. I know it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church, serving in the temple, and attending other church related activities. I enjoy serving others, and I try to find a way to help out at least one person a day, if not more. I get chances to help others all the time, and I feel great whenever I do something good for someone else. I love our beautiful temples and chapels, and appreciate deeply the time and energy spent by the people who build, maintain, and attend them. I pray for opportunities to serve the Lord in any capacity. I'm not here to just sit around!

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Conner Wilson
We don't worship Joseph Smith. We worship God our Father and his son Jesus Christ! Joseph Smith was a normal, everyday man, just like me. He had a calling in the church (an assignment) just like mine. While mine is a local calling, His was to be the Prophet for the whole church. Just like Moses was a prophet, or Noah, or Isaiah, Joseph Smith was called to be God's voice here on the Earth. Joseph Smith worshipped God and Jesus just like I do. He prayed to them and loved them. We don't pray to Joseph Smith. In fact, I think Joseph would be appalled at the idea! Show more Show less
