Hi I'm Riley Phippen

I'm from Des Moines, Iowa. I am serving a mission in Arequipa, Peru. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I am serving a mission in the Arequipa Peru Mission. At home I'm an avid outdoorsman. I love to hunt and fish with my brothers and Dad. I like cycling, all sports and really just being outside. Four-wheeling and dirt biking are some of favorite things to do along with camping with my direct and extended family. I love to cook expecially meats. I'm an Eagle Scout. My project was making blankets for cancer patients at the John Stoddard Cancer Center.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and I honestly don't know where I would be without it. It has guided me and helped me with so many things in my life. I have really come to love my Savior and see all that he has done for me. Without this church and the gospel my life would be totally different. I know that President Monson is a prophet of God. When he speaks I can feel the spirit and it confirms everything I have been taught.

How I live my faith

I like to talk to people about my religion. I love answering peoples questions and seeing their faces when they realize the sense that it makes. I like to do service whether it be super small things or big manual labor service projects. Like I said I am in Peru serving a mission sharing this amazing gospel with people here. I will be here until October of 2018.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Riley Phippen
The answer in its simplest form is this NO! The only people we worship are our loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. One is our Creator and the other our Savior. Joseph Smith was chosen to be the prophet to RESTORE the true Church of Jesus Christ to the earth. Through the revalation that he recieved he was able to establish the Church in these times.
