Hi I'm Andie

I grew up in Portland, OR. I love sports, camping, and being with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have loved living in Oregon! I am in college to study exercise science and I love learning. When I come home for the summer I have worked as a summer daycare leader and an icecream scooper. In my free time I enjoy running, reading, playing any type of sport, camping, and hanging out with my family! In high school I played on a very competitive traveling club soccer team and loved it. One of my proudest achievements was winning a state cup championship when I was 17. I also played as a point guard on my high school's varsity basketball team. My family is my strongest support system and I am lucky to be really close to all three of my siblings and my two parents. We enjoy playing board games together, watching movies, eating icecream, going to the beach, and camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church to two wonderful parents who taught me that living this gospel brings happiness and blessings. I am very proud and happy to be a member of this church because of the comfort and peace it has brought into my life. This church has taught me that I am a child of God, and that He loves me and has a plan for my life. It is so comforting to know that my Father in Heaven is always looking out for me and that my life has a purpose. When I attend church, read the scriptures, or pray, I feel an undeniable feeling of God's love for me. I know I am blessed when I obey the counsel of my church leaders given by Heavenly Father to protect us. Being a member of the church does not make me exempt from any trials or hardships of this life, but when I do go through hard times I know I feel closer to my Heavenly Father and that He helps me through them. A knowledge of this gospel has given me a bigger perspective that helps me understand who I am and why I am here. I know that this is the true church that Jesus Christ established in His ministry and that it has been restored today by prophet Joseph Smith. I know that Heavenly Father lives and loves us and that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to earth to die for us, each of us individually. I know that I am a daughter of God and that I can be with my family forever, and I am so grateful for this knowledge. I also know that God wants and expects us to be happy. I am grateful for the happiness this gospel brings me.

How I live my faith

I love my ward family at church! Right now I have the responsibility to teach the 14-15 year old boys and girls lessons every other sunday during church. We learn about the scriptures and words from our church leaders, and we talk about how to better live church standards, how to feel God's love for us, and how to be better friends and family members. In October 2016 I will be leaving to serve a church mission to share this gospel with the people of Washington D.C and I cannot wait!
