Hi I'm Rachael

I live in Canada. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in a family with 7 kids. I took swimming and piano lessons as a child, and still love both today. I took Band throughout school and joined choir in high school. I love music. My family is all from England, although we're a little more spread out across the globe now. I love spending time with family and friends, there's nothing I would rather do. I also love games, especially card games. I plan on going to university as soon as I finish my mission in the France Paris Mission. I would love to be a teacher and influence kids' lives for the better.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, and taught about it by loving parents. I've always respected and admired my parents for their faithfulness and devotion to the church. For me it always seemed easy to be a member of the church. Sometimes I have doubts, but they are always set at rest when I pray about them. It may take a while sometimes, but I wait and the answer always comes. I first gained my own solid personal testimony/belief in the church when I finished the Book of Mormon for the first time. I was so proud that I'd finished it. Then I prayed about it and waited for a confirmation that it was true. And waited. And waited. I'm not the most patient person, I prefer getting answers right away, so it was really hard to wait for something so important to me. When it finally came, I just knew. It was a feeling of peace and clarity that I could not deny, and never have since. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. And I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am on the Music Committee, and I help out by playing the organ during meetings, or conducting the congregation. Sometimes I teach a lesson. In the past, I've been in leadership positions of different classes, including seminary which is like a scripture study organization in the church. I organized events and games with a few other students and tried to encourage others to come to seminary. Mostly I try to make people feel wanted and included at church.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Rachael
It's pretty easy to find us, especially if you have access to the internet! Look up lds.org and you can find all of our meetinghouses and times, and the one closest to you. Come to church and we'll be there! Or if you see a couple young men in suits or young women in skirts or dresses walking down the street, all wearing name tags with our church's name on it (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), chase them down and they'll be happy to answer all of your questions! Social media is amazing for this as well! Search the hashtag #lds or #Mormon and you'll find loads of us. We're everywhere! You might be surprised to find out who you know who's a Mormon!
