Hi I'm Julia

I am a student, I love to read, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a freshman in college, and it's a whole new experience for me. My older brother and sister attend the same school, so it is nice to have two people that I can fall back on for experience and advice. Aside from devoting my time to school, I work part time. Whenever I can, I love to sneak in a good book or movie, because I love to submerge myself in the different plots and it's a great way to relieve stress.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into the church, my parents raised me to gain my own testimony, and so as a young girl, I was confident with my testimony. I know that when I pray, God hears me and answers me. I feel His love everyday, and each time I ask, He is quick to send the Holy Ghost to comfort me. I know that I can live with my eternal family after we are all gone, and that the Atonement is what allows everyone to be resurrected and allows me to repent and try every day to be a little more like Christ. I know that through the Atonement, Christ has felt EVERY pain and loss that I have felt, and that because of that, no matter now sad or hopeless I may feel, Christ is there.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my trying to live each day like Jesus would live. When my life is focused outward instead of inside on myself, I feel like I am making the world a better place. Something I have been doing most recently is trying to smile at everyone that meets my eyes and say hi. I cannot say if I have changed anyone's life significantly, but when I am happy and trying to make others happy, I know that is what Christ would want me to be doing.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement is when Christ suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane for our sins, and then was crucified on the Cross so that we could all live again with our Heavenly Father and our Heavenly Mother and our families. Show more Show less
