Hi I'm Liria

Hi I'm Liria. I am just your average teenager. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love to read, be with friends and family, I love to laugh. I am currently waiting to attend college as I have a mission call and will be leaving soon. I am very excited to go and share what I know about the gospel that I love. Like many teenagers and young adults I am going through that awkward time where I don't know what I really want to do with the rest of my life like, what am I going to study in college, am I going to leave home and go out into the world and be independent. Honestly I have no clue I just graduated High School and I am kind of just going with the flow and what feels good. I am currently heavily relying on the revelation I am currently receiving from my Heavenly Father on all the questions I am asking about what I should do next? And I know that what he wants for me right now is to serve him by going on a full-time mission. And I know that as long as I have him to help guide the way that what ever comes after my mission is going to be great!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents took me every Sunday for the three hours. Most of my friends were from church, I did have non-member friends from school and I know that the didn't believe what I believed and that was ok, I tried to be respectful and always tried to be a good example of what I believed, all of my friends respected that and they never tried to get me to do things that I didn't want to or that would go against my beliefs. It was until I was in Junior High that I was asked the question, Why are you a Mormon? I was around 12 at the time and honestly I had no answer. I just went to church because my parents told me it was the right thing and they wouldn't ever leave without me. And so this is when I started my conversion. I had learned to say your prayers and read your scriptures and so I did and for I time it worked I noticed a difference I was more happy, soon it wasn't enough I was getting what I wanted I hadn't been told if it was true. Well I had forgotten that if I wanted to know something I had to ask the right questions and search for that answer. So I kept reading the Book of Mormon because I knew my answer would come from there but in my prayers I started to ask the Lord if they were true. it took a long time( i am a slow reader) but I got my answer, one night I felt the spirit so strong and I knew what it was telling me that the Book of Mormon was true and because of what I felt that night I could not deny that it was wrong or what I felt was just my imagination. And from that experience I can now say that I know that this is the true gospel and that the book of mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith was a prophet who restored the gospel in its fullest. I also know that God will answer questions if we only ask and work to find the answer. I know this church is true. I love this gospel. I know that Christ is my savior and that he died for my sins and for yours so that we can live with our Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

As of right now I don't have a specific calling or role that I do. But I do go to all of my church meetings and try to give good input and answer questions that the teachers ask. I do know some adults that work with the youth in our church and sometimes they ask me if I would like to either teach a lesson or help teach it. I love helping with the youth because I feel like I have a gone through a lot of the things they are and its easy to relate to them. I also do visiting teaching, I was paired with my mom and we are giving a few names of some of the sisters in the ward and we visit them. l love this because I think that in such a large community it helps every be and feel cared for. I try and make it a personal goal to talk to the women I visit at least twice a week to see how they are doing and if they need help with anything.
