Hi I'm Kawelu Recca

Mormon Youth of Hawaiian descent. Born and raised on the island of 'Oahu, Hawai'i. Born and raised, Mormon.

About Me

Youngest of seven children and born and raised in the island state of Hawaii. Raised enjoying all the beauty these islands have to offer all within a loving and gospel minded family. Hobbies include anything to do with the ocean, from spear fishing to body surfing and football and wrestling in High School. Our island home is very unique in that my family being extremely large, its not uncommon to go to school with a number of cousins, this being said, island life is truly a blessing and it produces a very family oriented individual now looking back on my life from childhood to where I'm at now. Definitely looking forward to what my mission and college has to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because at the age of eight I was given a choice by my parents to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I chose to be baptized. I am still an active member of the Mormon Church because my testimony has been refined and strengthened since the age of eight and my eyes have been opened to the blessings and miracles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am serving the Lord and the people of Chile because the revelation that Joseph Smith received that spring morning in 1820 is just as real for me now as it was for him then.

How I live my faith

I live my faith how I was taught from my youth by my parents, and that is to live so the Holy Ghost is my constant companion. He will never lead me astray, He will always teach me and show me truth, He will inspire me to do good, speak good, think good and teach good. He will keep me aligned with the Lord and His teachings. He will help me to be humble and teach me to walk and talk with humility and meekness. He will show me the meaning of selflessness and sacrifice and teach me the mysteries of the Kingdom of our Father in Heaven. My parents have taught me to always strive to live my faith like this, and this is what I intend to do for the rest of my days.
