Hi I'm Rick Sheffield

I'm a retired Mormon who grew up in Utah. Now I'm planning on serving as a volunteer in China with my wife.

About Me

I'm a retired Information Technology Manager and graduated from Brigham Young University with an MBA. I enjoy learning about computer related technology and using computer applications. My favorite activities are hanging with my family, riding my bicycle, reading, and watching BYU sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My membership has blessed my life in innumerable ways. My wife and I our very close to our five adult children. We also have a great relationship with our married children's spouses. Though I am far from perfect, I believe striving to live the gospel has helped me through the difficult trials of life and kept my family close. The Savior loves us and blesses us beyond measure as we try to conform our lives to His teachings. I am a Mormon because a lifetime of experience has shown the doctrines are truly the teachings of Jesus. Living those teachings are the best way to find joy and to help other people to also find peace and joy.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in church. I have worked with scouts and the youth through much of my life. I have been blessed in my life and feel I need to give back. One of the things that is very important to me is the Lord's admonition for us to take care of those in need. My wife and I are going to be serving in China as humanitarian volunteers. We will be working to provide health care training, wheel chairs, and clean water. Our focus will be to assist people and communities become healthier and more self-reliant.
