Hi I'm Staci Arthur

I have lived in Utah my whole life. I went to Weber State University for a year. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 19 year old from Utah who loves to laugh! I have a deep love for dogs and currently have one border collie mix at home. I grew up my entire life playing different sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, swimming, and softball. As I got older, I finally decided softball was the sport for me and played on competitive teams throughout middle and high school as a pitcher and first basemen. I love music (esspecially Christmas music) and have been playing the piano for over ten years. I also love to sing and have been in numerous choirs since middle school. I am currently studying Communications in college. I also have a deep love for my fmaily and friends and I wouldn't be where I am today without them!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have learned of the gospel's truth for myself. I was lucky enough to grow up in the LDS church, but my testimony didn't start to solidify until I was a teenager when I started to search for it on my own. I read the Book of Mormon and I know of it's truthfulness. I know that Heavenly Father talks to me personally, specifically through that book. I have a deep respect and love for the prophet, Joseph Smith and all of the trials he went through so that I could have the gospel in my life today. I sustain Thomas S. Monson as a prophet for our day and I know that God is not silent! I mean how cool is that?! We are able to receive direction for our lives today not only through him, but individually as well. I am so grateful for the plan of happiness. It brings me a lot of peace and purpose to my life knowing that there is more after death. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that the Atonement works! I can't even begin to describe the peace and love I feel when I take advantage of the Atonement. I am truly thankful to have the knowledge that my sins can be washed away and that God will remember them no more if I repent sincerely. Overall, I know that I am a child of God that has eternal potential. The reason I know these things for myself is because I have studied, prayed, and lived these principles, and with time my testimony grew and grew. The spirit touches everyone differently but I feel the spirit as an overwhelming sense of peace and joy and that's just it. I am a Mormon because this gospel brings me joy, and what could be better than that?

How I live my faith

I have held many callings during my years in young women's, such as Mia Maid and Laurel president. I was just recently on the Relief Society Activity Committee in my young single adult ward where I got to plan fun activities for the sisters in my war. I have been involved in institute choir as well, and I just love how music can bring the spirit into our lives so strongly. I will also be serving in the Philippines Bacolod mission for the next 18 months, speaking Hiligaynon. I love this gospel and try my best to live my faith every day no matter where I am or who I'm with.
