Hi I'm Matt

I'm an actor, a music-lover, an enthusiastic learner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from high school in May 2016. I love theatre and was able to be a part of TONS of plays and musicals throughout my years in high school. I love music, especially piano and vocal. I have played the piano for over 10 years and have been singing my heart out my whole life. I love learning and I am especially fascinated by English and history classes. I am currently serving my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Italy Milan mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with parents who loved me very much. Growing up in the Church did not guarantee me a testimony of my own and I had to find it for myself. I encountered the hardest time in my life when I was 15, and my faith in God struggled a lot. It was no longer enough to rely on the testimony of my parents. I had to gain a testimony for myself. I diligently studied the Book of Mormon and prayed for things to get better and for people to be nicer to me. The answer to my prayers came as a serious redirection in my life when I felt a prompting from the Holy Ghost to transfer schools. I had to put my trust in God and believe that this was the right path for me to switch schools. As a result of this leap of faith, I have been blessed beyond my greatest expectations. I have been given opportunities I never would have had before, and, most importantly, I have met so many amazing people who changed my life for the better and loved me more than I ever deserved. It was at this time that my testimony began to sincerely grow. I realized that God knows me as an individual and that He loves me in a way that is deeply personal. I love where I am in life now with my testimony, and I wouldn't trade my journey of faith for anything in this world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day to the best of my ability. I read the scriptures and pray every day to know for myself that this is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. The blessings that are promised and given to Christ's followers are incredible and I don't know where I would be without them. Sometimes, I don't even feel like I deserve the amount of blessings I have received. At church, I serve as a family history consultant and a pianist. Music is one the strongest supporters of my faith. I am so grateful to have hymns and other spiritual music in my life. These songs have provided nourishment for me during some of my darkest times.
