Hi I'm Brenda

I'm a mother of six and grandmother of 33. I am a fruit farmer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my high school sweetheart. We had three children. I was a full time mother and part time nurse. At the age of thirty my husband was killed in an accident. I met a man who had lost his wife to cancer and was also left with three children and two married children. We joined forces and our families became one. We own and operate a fruit growing business. Our children grew up learning how to work on the farm together which has been a great blessing to them. We still work together every harvest. I love to quilt. My favorite activity is planning and carrying out family activities. We play in the snow. We play in the mountains. We have pool parties. We play at the lake. We play at the dessert and at the ocean. We have hay rides and bonfires. We have pioneer days and fireworks and more. These are my favorite things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my family, I love my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. I know that by keeping the commandments, making and keeping sacred covenants and receiving the ordinances in the holy temple and remaining faithful I can be with my family, my Brother Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Parents forever.

How I live my faith

I have always loved to serve and teach in my church. I have lead, served and taught in the women's organization, the young women's organization, and in the children's organization and have even been a cub scout leader. I have most recently been serving the patrons of the Payson LDS Temple. My husband and I have loved visiting the elderly people in our area. We try to do small service projects such as cutting and delivering firewood to widows and others who use it to heat their homes. We have enjoyed taking our children and grandchildren to care centers at Christmas time to sing Christmas carols and perform the Nativity for the elderly. We recently took our grandchildren to our local Veteran's Care Center to present a patriotic program for the residents. We are planning to serve a church mission for 18 months in Palmyra New York. I believe that a prophet of God, his counselors and the apostles were inspired to write and introduce The Proclamation of the Family. I believe that its' counsel to participate as a family in wholesome recreational activities is important. We try to spend as much time as possible together as a family. I believe in teaching our children and grandchildren through example that happiness comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe that sharing stories of ancestors can help our children find strength in their challenges. I hope that by spending time with one another they will feel that they have a greater support system.
