Hi I'm Meghan

I'm just a small town girl, but living in a beautiful world, doing my best to make a positive difference. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I come from a huge, blended family that I absolutely adore and have grown up in an incredibly small town. I've always been very academically focused and involved in as many things as I can be. My interest include listening to classical music and playing it on the piano; serving others in my community; reading avidly; baking every dessert that I possibly can; dancing both recreationally and competitively; listening to all styles of music (I've finally reached the point where I enjoy country music); looking at architecture and other forms of art; studying history, especially of other countries and cultures; and doing anything with my family. I am in the middle of my college career and I haven't quite decided what I want to go into, though I have a pretty good idea. I've always had huge dreams and I'm doing my best to reach them.

Why I am a Mormon

It would be easy to say that I am a Mormon because my parents and the rest of my family members are, that I was born into and have just always known. However, it isn't that simple. Yes, my parents have always required that I go to church. Yes, I have been strengthened by their testimonies and belief. But no, I am not a Mormon because others chose that I am one. I am a Mormon because I know, without a doubt, that God is there; that He exists, that He has incredible power, that He loves every one of us, no matter how many mistakes we make, and that because of that He made a plan so we could grow and progress into the people that we have to potential to be and still be able to make it back to Him to live forever. I know that the Book of Mormon is another message sent from Him to give us direction and help because He knew that we would need it in today’s word, because every time I pick up and read even a verse out of this book, a feeling of peace, comfort, and love comes to me. I truly believe that Christ is a son of God, the savior of the world, and my redeemer who was sent down to give an example of how we are supposed to live and then pay for all of our sins to make it possible for us to be freed from the burden of our sins and have to chance to reach that celestial level. I know that Joseph Smith was chosen to bring back the true Gospel of Christ to the Earth and there is no way he could’ve accomplished the things he did without the power and support of our Heavenly Father and that I too can rely on that Holy power and strength when I go through difficult things and just can’t do it on my own. I have a testimony in the modern prophets of these latter days, that they really do have the authority to give us direction and their messages really are from God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet. I am a Mormon because I have found these things out for myself and cannot deny them.

How I live my faith

The biggest way I live my faith is through the everyday choices I make. Its choosing to take the path that Christ would, by smiling at strangers as I pass them on the street, making the extra effort to help those in need when I see opportunities around me, or not getting mad when my sisters steal my clothes. Its also in the bigger choices I've made like deciding serve a mission. By sacrificing a year and half of my life, money I've saved and could've made while I'm serving, time I could've used to further myself academically, and missing all of the life events that my family and friends will go through when I'm gone, I am showing God and all of those who look at my life that I have the faith that this is true and others deserve to have this blessing in their lives like I do.
