Hi I'm Tom

I am a Mormon and have been an active member for over 50 years. i served a mission at age 19 and served in the U.S. Army.

About Me

I served in the US Army from 1970 to 1973 mostly in the Hospital at Ft Gordon, Georgia. My occupation was a result of that service. I worked in administration of a Radiology Department, but my real interest was in diagnostic ultrasound. I am the father of five children and a grandfather of 11 so far. My wife and I have been married for 43 years and hope for many more. I love the out doors, including water sports, hiking, biking, and wildlife photography. I also spend a fair amount of time on the golf course. I also love to spend time serving the community any way I can. Spent may hours as a scout master over the last 25 years. I have served two Missions for the church. I love to participate in any civic service endeavor, no matter who the sponsor is.

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to be an active Mormon because I am a truth seeker and I believe there is more opportunity to learn about Christianity in this faith than anywhere else I have looked. I believe Jesus established the way for us to learn of Him in the scriptures and through the organization of his church. I also believe that His Church is the same today as in old times and that it would have the same organization today with apostles and prophets. It is a big claim that there would be prophets today, but no bigger claim than that there were prophets in any age. No time in history needed communication with God more that we do today.

How I live my faith

My beliefs lead me to serve others as often as possible. That is why I served in the military, in scouting, and in many different church positions from Sunday School teacher to youth leader as well as some administrative positions.
