Hi I'm Ray Christian

I'm a husband, father and grandfather, and yes I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, I retired in 2012, since then I bought a motorhome and have been traveling back-and-forth to Florida. Also, My wife and I see our grandkids as much as is humanly possible. They truly the light up our lives. I started playing golf when I was about 12 years old with my dad and I still have the bug, and am still trying to improve.

Why I am a Mormon

In 1976, I felt was a deep desire, to find happiness. The desire grew in me And I wished and wonder, what it would be like to be good. I mean to change completely to be honest true loving understanding person. This was a secret wish in my heart. It's a funny thing but it seems around that time that Mark Klein and his wife Diana came into our lives. Ever so slowly they became friends with us then good friends. We saw how happy they were together and how nice it was to have them for good friends. It wasn't till sometime later Mark had asked me if he could come over with a friend to talk to me about something. I said okay not wanting to hurt his feelings. They came over and told me of the first vision of Joseph Smith. My reaction was it's a very nice story so what at this point Don Bassie (Marks friend) asked me what I thought. I replied that I really didn't care one way or the other. At this he snap that he could not understand how I or any one could not care. Regardless of this, Mark left me a book of Mormon I excepted The book because I like free things also I did not want to hurt his feelings. Later, I became curious and started to read, as usual I got bored very quickly. Then one night I was on call at the hospital, I had to do a blood test on a baby in the nursery about every hour throughout the night. On that night I happen to bring the book of Mormon with me I remember Mark telling me to start reading on page 420. Section telling of the visit of Jesus Christ made to America. I just read a few pages when I started to physically shake I knew in my heart I've had heard this before. For behold the Spirit filled my heart and soul bringing a witness to me that Jesus is the Christ he is the son God he is the light and life of the world, whom drank out of that bidder cup and glorified the father by taking upon him the sins of the world and than was nailed upon the cross, he gave up is mortal life and then rose from the grave I so testify in his name amen.

How I live my faith

My wife and I are snowbirds, that means the last three years we have migrated down to Florida for the winter season. What I have discovered is that the people In the Mormon church are the same whether here in Cleveland or down in Arcadia Florida. It truly is my second family. I have found that keeping God's Commandments are for our happiness and that's what I tried to do every day. Come to think of it, as I strive to keep his commandments that's when I feel the most peace and joy in my heart.
