Hi I'm Elissa

I grew up in Oakland & have been raised in the church.

About Me

I have been called to serve in the Florida Ft. Lauderdale Mission for a period of 18 months & I am very excited. I'm 19, a student, & have been raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm very grateful for the restored gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

In 1969, my grandfather met missionaries of the church. He accepted their message & continued to meet with them. The missionaries challenged my grandfather to read The Book of Mormon & after doing so, he knew it was true. My father was 6 at the time & my grandmother was not very fond of them or the gospel, but as time passed & lots of praying was done, my grandmother desired to be baptized. My grandparents were baptized on the same day & the rest is history. My uncles & aunt went on to serve missions & my cousins have also done so. I will be the third grandchild to serve a mission as of this month & I'm extremely grateful for the gospel & missionary work. The missionaries who introduced my grandparents to the gospel changed everything for them & I cannot wait to do the same for others as I serve.

How I live my faith

When I graduated high school last year, I was asked to serve as a teacher in our youth group. The ages range from 12 to 18 & we are sometimes combined, but on Sunday's, we meet as young women. I teach lessons & counsel our young women.
