Hi I'm Taylor

I'm a college student, daughter, sister, aspiring occupational therapist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born to two amazing parents in American Fork, Utah but have spent most of my life in the great state of North Carolina. Currently though, I am a missionary for the Mormon Church in the Hawaii Honolulu mission. Before going serving a mission I was a college student at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and loved my experience there. Part of the reason I loved going to school out west is because of all of the outdoor activities available. I love hiking, camping, rock-climbing, and just being out in nature. I have also been lucky enough to have a family that loves sports as much as I do. My sisters and I have all ran both track and cross-country and have played basketball. With three younger sisters our house is never quiet and there is always something going on, but I absolutely love it.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have both been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints their entire lives and so I was raised going to church every Sunday. Though I was "born into the church" I had to decide for myself if I truly believed in what I was being taught every Sunday. When I was 13, I read the entire Book of Mormon and prayed to God asking him if the Book of Mormon was his word. I felt an undeniable sense of peace and knew for myself that I wanted to be a Mormon. I am so grateful I had this experience because I now know that there is a God that loves and cares about each one of us. As I continue to live my faith my belief in God and his son Jesus Christ grows.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing all of the daily things that strengthen your relationship with God. I read the Bible and Book of Mormon, and pray daily. I also attend church every Sunday which has helped my faith in God grow. Throughout high school I would wake up each morning to attend a scripture study class at 6am before school each morning. It sounds crazy, but I am so grateful I attended that class because it has helped my understanding of God's word grow so much. I have found that living my faith means taking life one day at a time, trying to be the best person I possibly can be. Obviously nobody is perfect and I make plenty of mistakes, but I have found that as I try and remember Christ throughout the day it is easier for me to follow his example and I make fewer mistakes.
