Hi I'm Dorothy

I'm a wife and mother of seven and grandmother of 12. I retired from teaching special education in public schools. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have seven grown children and 12 grandchildren. I taught elementary school for twenty years, 16 of those years were in special education. My favorite thing is working with struggling readers. I love to travel, walk, paddle my kayak or stand-up paddle board in a near-by lake. I enjoy gardening and working in the yard.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a good Mormon family so I have been taught Mormon teachings since a young child. I have always felt love and peace and closeness to my Savior Jesus Christ through reading the scriptures and praying to God, our Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. I have felt greatly blessed as I tried to keep God's commandments and follow the teachings of the scriptures and the living prophets. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has brought happiness to me and to my family.

How I live my faith

In my church, I teach a class about family relations including marriage and raising children. During the week I teach a class for people preparing to go to the Latter-day Saint Temple to receive blessings there. My husband and I are assigned to visit four households each month as representatives of the church and to watch over and care for the people in each household.
