Hi I'm Cole

I grew up in Utah, live in Utah, probably always will live in Utah. I'm serving the Lord in Canada and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing soccer, cooking food and playing the piano. Maybe someday I'll learn to play the organ. Maybe. I'm currently a full-time missionary in the Canada Halifax Mission. I like winter more than summer and I enjoy hiking (or driving) in the fall to see all the colors of nature. My favorite dessert is caramel cheesecake, preferably from Cheesecake Factory. I worked at an access control company which has led me to a fascination in computer technology. Other than that, I like cars, the church, bacon (with eggs, ideally), cats, music and four-wheeling.

Why I am a Mormon

All through my childhood, I sang the primary songs and knew the gospel was true. Everyone always says the teenage years are the years the most people fall away from the church, and that was what happened in my case. I eventually stopped going to church because of some circumstances, and I tried to distance myself. My parents sent me to EFY every summer, and it was there that I felt the spirit and testimonies of others, and I realized that I was missing out. Through time, with help from parents and church leaders, I slowly made progress coming back to the church. I feel that if I had not had this experience, I would not be as strong in the church as I am today. It helped me realize that I was not a member because of my parents and ward members, but that I was a member because I truly believed it. The church is true, but only we can find out for ourselves.

How I live my faith

Living my faith includes going to church, giving service, attending youth events and organizing lessons. Since I have not yet left on my mission, I have the opportunity to attend many youth events where service is given, my favorite of which is visiting and feeding the homeless shelter. Another one of my favorite ways to live my faith is visiting the temple, where the spirit is always present and I am able to get away from the world, even for just a little while.
