Hi I'm Laurie Waller Pofahl

I grew up all over the U.S., as the child of a Marine father. I'm the mother of 7 children. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love being a Mom. My husband and I have raised 6 sons and a daughter. Additionally we have hosted foreign exchange students from Germany, France, and Kazakhstan. These were all girls, so we consider them daughters as well. This association has helped us make friends around the world, and encouraged us to travel and learn about other cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in the church, and my family was active, it was still important that I learned for myself that the Gospel is true. This has come over time, as I've lived it, studied it and prayed about the doctrine. The Spirit has testified to me that these things are true. And I know that living the gospel has enriched my life, although I still have challenges and struggles, the principles of the Gospel help me in dealing with "life". I know that I am a daughter of God, that He loves me and wants me to return to Him. That because He loves me(and all of us), He provided a Savior to atone for our sins, and break the bands of death. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that He lives. I also know that His Gospel was restored to the earth, that it's the same as the church that existed during His ministry on the earth. I know that the prophet Joseph Smith was the chosen instrument to assist in that restoration, and that through the power of God the Book of Mormon was translated. I know that the Book of Mormon is scripture, as well as the Bible, and is a second testament of Christ. These things I know because the Holy Ghost has witnessed to me through personal revelation. I feel so blessed to have this knowledge and to have the opportunity to share these blessings with others.

How I live my faith

I enjoy participating in our Ward(congregation), and especially enjoy teaching. Music is a big part of my life, and I love teaching music to the children. Visiting members in their homes has allowed me to serve them, and help or encourage them. I enjoy studying the scriptures and applying them to my life.
