Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in Southern California. I finished my first year of college. I am a swimmer and water polo player. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived my whole life playing water sports(swimming, and water polo), and I love music(piano and singing). I am a student at Utah Valley University and am majoring in Elementary Education to teach Kindergarten. I am currently preparing to serve as a full time missionary in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents were members of the church their whole lives, though my dad was inactive until about age 18. My whole life, all I knew was this church and I never doubted my beliefs or the teachings of the church until my Junior year of high school. I had a teacher that made me question whether or not Joseph Smith was a true prophet. This continued on for a month or two until these feelings overwhelmed me and I knew that the only thing to do was to continue to ponder the scriptures and pray for a confirmation that he was a true prophet. I got down on my knees and prayed for comfort and almost immediately the feelings of doubt and darkness left me and the feelings of peace and comfort was overwhelming. At that moment I knew that Heavenly Father answers our prayers and that he loves us unconditionally. I continue on with the knowledge that we are children of God and I want to share that knowledge with everyone.

How I live my faith

I read and study my scriptures and continue to pray to Heavenly Father. The more often I do these simple things, the more my faith in the gospel grows. I seek for opportunities to serve others around me because "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." I try to be the best example that I can be and love others as Christ and our Heavenly Father loves us.
