Hi I'm Maren

I grew up in New Hampshire. I study art. I love classic rock. I love being a member of the Mormon church.

About Me

I am unmarried, no kids, but I do have two loving parents, four siblings (one sister, three brothers), and many other good friends who I basically consider to be family members. I am going to college currently, I am studying art. I have always loved making art ever since I was very young. I also enjoy gardening, reading, studying other cultures, cooking, trying new foods (currently I'm trying to train myself to like spicy foods... I'm getting to the point where I can eat a spoonful of hot relish on my sandwich without crying), and playing music. I recently taught myself how to play the guitar. I'm not very good. But it's fun. Especially when I finally nail a new song!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church, my parents and their parents and all the way back to when the Mormon pioneers crossed the American Great Plains, most all of my ancestors have been LDS. So on my part it was not a one-time active decision to become a full-time member of the LDS church, I suppose my witness came little by little, as I was growing up. The church's teachings make sense to me, after I have asked questions and studied and

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary as of now, which my purpose is to teach people about what Mormons believe, but before I began my mission, my responsibility in my congregation was teaching the Sunday School class for the 4- and 5-year old kids. Our church has Sunday School classes for every age group of children, and Sunday School classes for adults 18 and older, taught by members of that same congregation. It's a great way to get to know people when you teach a Sunday School class. I live my faith by being part of this wonderful atmosphere of love, fellowship, and trust that I am so grateful to find in my congregation, and even every of the many LDS congregations that I've ever visited in my travels. I strive to be a good influence on others, just as others have been a positive influence on me. Being an active member has given me so many connections with people, and these people have taught me so much and have blessed my life in ways that I probably never would have had if I had not been part of this church.
