Hi I'm Janeen

I grew up in Wyoming and have lived there my entire life. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. I love to golf, crochet, read, sing, camping and spending time with family. I grew up in a blended family of 10 children in a home with only 1 bathroom. Some how we survived. I have worked in several professions. Education, banking, insurance, business owner and most recently K-12 education software.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family but because we believe that God gave all of his children the agency to choose their own path I chose a path that was contrary to the things I had been taught. It took me several years to become truly converted. I was in a situation that was very different than the way I had been raised. When I was able to humble myself enough to know that I couldn't handle things on my own I went to the Lord in prayerful supplication. It became known to me that the thing I needed most in my life was to return to the teachings of my youth. As I did so, my life changed dramatically. As I began to obey the Lords commandments and rely on Him for guidance the light gradually came back into my life and the life of my family. It is never to late to repent and come unto Him. This church is true! God knows each and everyone of us individually. He hears and answers our prayers. I am a Mormon because I know with every fiber of my being that it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith be being an example of Christ like behavior. I have met a lot of people who are not of my faith and my best friend is not a Mormon. She knows that I respect her beliefs and she respects mine. I have always tried to be a good listener and be empathetic to others situations. I volunteered with Special Olympics for a number of years. I believe that these athletes are God's chosen children here on earth to teach us unconditional love and compassion. On November 14, 2016 I entered the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah to learn about being a missionary and preparatory to serving for the next 23 months as a missionary in the Texas Houston Mission. My mission is to assist individuals from every walk of life to learn how to get a job. I teach classes that help me identify their skills, accomplishments, and how they can add value to the company they want to work for. I also teach them how to build a "winning" resume' and effective job interviewing skills. I also teach about networking and searching to find job leads. I knew very little about this when I first got to Houston but, with God's help I have learned so much. The rewards of being able to assist others is more than I could ever have imagined. I truly love the Lord and recognize his hand in all things and am so grateful for this opportunity to serve.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

We are like many other women in the world today. We are in partnership with our husbands in raising our children and providing a safe environment for them to live in. We teach the laws of God and pray they will follow them instead of what the world is trying to teach them. We are also in a partnership with our husbands in the relationship we have with each other. We believe that is should never be the man alone or the women alone but rather the two of us working together. We strive to have a marriage and a relationship that will last for the eternities, not just till death do us part. In God's eyes we are equally important. Show more Show less
