Hi I'm Rachel Allred

I grew up in Northern Utah next to the mountains. Their beauty provides my inspiration. I am an artist an author, I am a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I was young I have loved to express myself through art and literature. I wake up in the morning with ideas of something I want to paint or a story I want to write. Sometimes I just lay there in bed envisioning whatever my idea is until I know how I want to express it. Most of my art and writing is inspired by Utah's natural diversity. I live next to the mountains which provides all sorts of creative stimulation. I love animals and nature--especially flowers. It doesn't matter the occasion, if it is my birthday or valentines day or a Tuesday, I love getting flowers. They are my drawing "go to". I believe God is the ultimate artist and I aspire to someday be as good as him. He paints vivid sunsets, sketches vast horizons and orchestrates the most beautiful flower arrangements.

Why I am a Mormon

The church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints brings the greatest joy and happiness to my life. It's teachings give me direction and confidence in who I am as a Daughter of God. The teachings of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints, are the fullness of the teachings of the Gospel of Christ. I love my family. They are my best friends and I want nothing more than to be with them forever. Because of the church and the gospel's teachings I have comfort and knowledge that my family relationship will not end at death. I can be with my family forever. The Book of Mormon is another testimony of Christ. It accompanies the Bible and is a record of people who lived in the ancient Americas. Just like the Bible, the Book of Mormon teaches of Christ's gospel and of God's love and divinity. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It brings me peace and better understanding in my life. My conversion has come from studying, prayer and the witness of the Holy Ghost as I have read the Book of Mormon and have strived to live the Gospel's teachings as taught by the church.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is less of a checklist of rules or commandments we must obey and more about becoming a servant and disciple of Christ. This means that we are active followers of Christ, striving to become more like him. I am not a perfect servant but I try each day to love as Christ does and to serve as he would. I have recently been called to serve as a full time missionary in the Jackson Mississippi Mission. I have also served in my community by planting trees and helping to keep the environment healthy and thriving. I believe that education is very important and have had the opportunity to be a teacher in my community. I have served in a special needs activity group provided by the church and have enjoyed getting to know their precious spirits. My family has participated in several sub for santas and has performed musically as an effort to give love and comfort to those in need. I know that as we serve God and his children our talents and abilities will be magnified.
