Hi I'm Levi

I was born in Idaho, and grew up in Utah. I love sports and school. I love the gospel even more.

About Me

I have been a member of the church all my life, and I am currently serving a full-time mission. I grew up in a good sized family, with an older brother and five little sisters. I played a very wide range of sports, but football and track and field were the only two I continued to play through high school. In track I was region champion in shot-put and took third in discus. I have always loved basketball, but stopped playing it to focus on football. My favorite subjects in school were physics, English, and math. I love being active and also enjoy spending time in the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are active members, and I followed their footsteps in being baptized and attending church regularly. For my childhood it was because of their teaching that I was a part of this church, but the more I learn about it the more it has become a very personal thing to me. I have my own testimony of the gospel, and I am so thankful to have had this blessing my entire life. I know that God lives and that He loves us, and I know that true and lasting happiness comes only through obeying His commandments. They are given to us to protect us from the dangers of sin, and do not restrict us from having fun. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true and inspired book, and that we will draw closer to God by reading it and applying its teachings in our lives.

How I live my faith

I try to participate as much as I can in our weekly young men's activities; I love the Spirit that is there and how much fun we always have. I rarely went home teaching, but after some encouragement I started meeting with my assigned family. I quickly learned to love visiting the family and I am grateful to have that chance to meet with them. My favorite Sundays are the ones filled with church meetings, even if they start early in the morning, because it helps me to focus on the importance of the Sabbath. After receiving my mission call I went to the temple almost twice a week, and that has been a huge blessing in my life.

What is being a Mormon like?

Levi
Being a Mormon is more than just a title, it is a lifestyle. We do our best to live our lives how Jesus taught, by obeying the commandments. There are some things normal to society that we 'miss out on', such as coffee, but in reality, we have more freedom and greater blessings when we obey God. Being a Mormon is like being part of a great big family of members who try to help each other become better. Show more Show less
