Hi I'm Sister Holly Harris

I am a missionary. I love God and all His children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Brigham Young University, currently taking time from school, work, family, and friends to serve a full-time mission in New Jersey. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time in my life when I felt like there was little hope or light in my life. I found myself angry about the circumstances I was in and overall wasn't happy. I had grown up in the Church but never really tried things out and applied the lessons I was taught when things got tough. After trying to make it on my own, I realized I needed help. I needed the help of my Savior. So, I reluctantly tried out the whole "church thing" that everybody said made them "sooo happy." As I prioritized the Gospel in my life, I found the light that I was searching for, the hope that I had lost, the strength I needed to bear life's hard times, and I found my Savior who had already found me and waited for me to turn around and look to him. I felt the joy of the Gospel, the Spirit was poured into my life once again, and I received a witness that Jesus Christ truly is the way, the truth, and the light. I know you can have this too. Joy, love, peace, hope, and strength are just some of the countless blessings I have enjoyed as becoming a disciple of Christ.

How I live my faith

In the Church before I left on my mission, I was a youth, so I went to a youth group once a week and was taught in Sunday School and Young Women's classes each Sunday. As a youth, I held many callings in the youth program for girls, Young Women's, in assisting our leaders in planning activities for, loving, and filling needs of the girls in our class. In my senior year of high school, I was on the Seminary Council, a council of seniors who help in leading, guiding, and loving the fellow students who attend Seminary, a Gospel-oriented class for high school-aged students. After a summer semester at BYU, I came home and was the young women's volleyball coach, and I served as an advisor the 14-15 year old girls. In addition, I also served in the temple, the Holy House of the Lord, one day a week as I prepared to serve a mission. There, I was able to assist in the holy and sacred ordinances that take place in the House of the Lord. Now, I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving for 18 months in New Jersey, declaring to the people there of the good news, joy, love, peace, comfort, and strength that is and is found in Jesus Christ and His Gospel.
