Hi I'm Paden

I'm from Utah. I am an avid outdoors man. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love the mountains. I'm an avid snow skier in the winter time and love sledding with my cousins. In the warmer months I enjoy hiking, camping, mountain biking, river rafting, horse riding, and camp fires. I am the oldest child in my family and my best friend is my younger (but bigger) brother. It is with him that I get to have most of my awesome adventures. In high school I enjoyed playing football and being part of student government. I love to play pick-up basketball and Ultimate Frisbee. I participated in the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Following my mission I will be going to college. I have been blessed to grow up near many cousins and my grandparents. Consequently, my family is the most important part of my life. Summer time barbecues, Sunday dessert nights, holiday celebrations, birthday parties, and other special occasions are some of the best times because I get to be with my family and hear stories from my aunts and uncles or play games with my cousins and eat amazing food. I am the luckiest older brother in the world to have three beautiful little sisters in addition to my brother who love me a lot. My parents have been amazing examples of putting family first and helping us all to love each other. I love to go anywhere and do anything with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to faithful member parents. I grew up learning a lot about the church and had many great things happen to me as a young person because of my involvement in the church. But as I neared the age of 12, an important step for member of the church, I decided I wanted to know for myself rather than rely on what my parents were telling my. I read the Book of Mormon. After reading the entire book, I followed the promise in Moroni 10:4-5. After praying specifically to know, I didn't immediately receive an answer. But soon after that prayer, and as I continued to pray for the next few days, I was answered. Some may say that 12 is too young to know something like that. And if all I had was that singular experience, it would be extremely difficult to remain on the path which I have chosen. But since that time, I have had some amazing experiences. Many of them! My conversion was and is a process but as I strive to follow the teachings of Christ, my life is blessed and I enjoy peace and happiness. I'm a Mormon because I want to become what Christ wants me to become.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a mission and learning to teach the gospel in Mandarin Chinese. I have looked forward to serving a mission my entire life and was blessed to be called to serve in Taiwan. Prior to my mission I was part of the youth program and attended many awesome Wednesday night activities that ranged from service projects to hikes to learning about different prospective careers. I go to Church on Sundays. The other days of the week I pray and study the scriptures to build my own faith.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Paden
Every time I get the opportunity to be in the mountains I am grateful for a God who has given us such a beautiful earth to live on. The immense beauty of the mountains, whether they be covered in ice and snow, the greenest trees, or just plain sandstone, testify clearly of the existence of a loving Heavenly father.
