Hi I'm Rachelle Shumway

I live in Utah. I am called to serve in the Tennessee Knoxville Mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Utah and I love it so much. I love to be active and be outdoors. I love hiking, snowboarding, camping, traveling, and playing sports. I graduated high school with my dental assistant certificate. I currently work as a dental assistant and I also work at a farm part time. About a month ago I received my mission call to the Tennessee Knoxville mission and I can't describe be how excited I am to serve the Lord and the people who live there. I am the 2nd oldest out of 8 kids. My parents got divorced when I was 6, and now they are both remarried. I have a big family and I love them all so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and I have been going to church my whole life. I was baptized when I was eight, and I always went to all of the church activities. It wasn't until I was 14 years old that I was fully converted to this church. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ has made me a happier and better person. There is a peace that you can feel when living the commandments of God that you cannot feel anywhere else. I know that God has provided a way to live with Him again one day, and that way is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in all aspects of my life. In all things I try to be an example and act as how the savior would act. I am not great at it by any means, but I try to be better everyday. In my ward I serve as a young women teacher for the 16-18 age group. It is hard to teach this group because I am in that age group, but it has taught me so much. I learn so much from preparing lessons and I know it will help when I am out in the mission field.
