Hi I'm Keifer

I grew up in Utah and I plan to live here for the rest of my life. I am the third eldest of twelve children, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to read, draw, and go for long walks. I love going camping. My favorite place in the world would have to be laying under the night sky in Moab, Utah because it is absolutely beautiful out there. I am a major geek when it comes to super heroes and church history trivia. I love to make people laugh and will do anything (within the standards of the church) to make people laugh and smile. I love this gospel and I wouldn't give up any of the experiences I've had because of it. I am currently serving in the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission and am so happy to be in the service of my Lord and Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church and since my Junior year of high school I have never questioned whether or not this church is true. I have aspergers, and because I don't understand things as well as other people do, I got made fun of and bullied in school. Junior year was when I started asking the question, "why me.?" That year, in early morning seminary, I received my answer. We were studying the Book of Mormon that year, and I can't remember exactly what day it was, but we were memorizing 1st Nephi 3:7, "And it came to pass that I Nephi said unto my father, I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he hath commanded them." When I read that scripture on that day that not only told me that I can handle anything that the world throws at me because I have God and Jesus Christ at my side, but it also testified to me that this church, this gospel is true. Since that day, I have never questioned the validity of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and may lightning smite me down if I ever do.

How I live my faith

I have always tried to serve my fellow man, no matter how tedious the task may seem. I figure that if I want to call myself a disciple of the Lord I need to act like one and do as he did by serving my fellow children of God. Whether it be something small like being kind to those who are need of a friendly smile or something big like helping people move their stuff three flights of stairs, makes no difference to me.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are the center of the church because God wanted us to be happy and to learn and the best way to do that is to be in families. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is very hard to describe. The official church answer is a testimony is what you believe and know to be true and you gained this belief and knowledge through a spiritual witness from the Holy Ghost. And while correct, a more in depth answer, I feel, is a testimony is something that no one, no matter who they are, can live without. A testimony clarifies that which confuses us and others. A testimony is something that, again, I feel, you can't just wake-up with one day. No, it requires effort to find one and keep it strong. It comes through experience, study, and prayer to know if the things you are learning are true. A testimony fills your entire body and soul and provides you a rock to anchor yourself to when trials come. Show more Show less
