Hi I'm Brittany

I am a middle child, a dog trainer, and a college student. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to spend time with my family. I rode my bike three miles every day to visit my older sister's house when I lived at home. She taught me to train dogs, care for small animals, and ride horses. I helped deliver goat kids with her and learned to flood irrigate. I loved to work with her because she is upbeat and full of funny stories. I also love music. I played violin for seven years and picked up the clarinet to join marching band. My older sister, younger brother, and I enjoy playing music together, especially around Christmas time. My dad passed away this summer. I miss him terribly, but the "sting of death" really is swallowed up in Christ. I am in the process of healing by relying on the atonement of Christ and his grace (enabling power). I know I will be reunited with my father again and that my Heavenly Father is aware of my deep pain. He knows me perfectly and has a plan for my life. I see His hand in my life as I take the time to look for it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know for myself that Joseph Smith was called by God to restore His church to the earth. I know this because: I know the priesthood power and authority of Jesus Christ is restored to the earth. I feel the power of God through priesthood blessings I receive. I feel the power of God in the ordinances of baptism, the sacrament and the temple ordinances. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and have felt the Spirit testify of its truthfulness. I "taste" the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23 peace, love, joy, faith) as I study it. I know Heavenly Father knows me individually because of the tender mercies in my life and the closeness I feel to Him when I pray and study His words. I find direction for my life and answers to my questions when I study the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I can testify that He has all power and wisdom and that my prayers are always answered in the Lord's way and time. When I choose to act in faith and pray for help, I am strengthened through the companionship of the Spirit. He has given me strength beyond my own and softened my hardened heart. When my dad passed away from pancreatic cancer, I turned to God in prayer and fasting. Although I felt depressed from the physical separation from my father, I know my healing is possible because of the atonement. My membership is priceless to me. The blessing and promises of the temple ordinances strengthen me and help me move forward with faith. I know that I will be resurrected and reunited with my dad someday. I know we will all be judged at the last day for our works and the desires of our hearts, and that by relying on the Atonement of Christ we may be saved! I have felt the joy of forgiveness when I have repented with a sincere heart. There is hope through Christ's atonement to have a change of heart, receive forgiveness, overcome temptation, become more like Him, and receive eternal life.

How I live my faith

I live by faith by obeying the Lord's commandments to keep the Sabbath day holy and attending my church meetings. I have found that the sooner I turn to the Lord through prayer and fasting in my challenges, the sooner I find comfort and strength through the Spirit. I choose to keep my covenants to always remember Christ by putting Him first in my day with morning scripture study. The word of God is powerful and has inspired me to do more good things than I would have done without this study. Direction for my life comes when I act in faith and turn to the word of God for guidance. I strive to serve others by fulfilling my callings in my ward and serving in the temple.
