Hi I'm Clara

I am a student from the East Coast, but my heart is in the mountains. I love Indian food and the great outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a twenty something year old that has been a student out West for the past couple years. I came to school thinking that I was going to be a Veterinarian, but since then I have decided to switch to Social Work. I worked at an Animal shelter and loved the animals, but found working with their families most fulfilling. My ultimate day would be spent outside (hiking, skiing, rock climbing, you name it!) with friends, reading a good book, napping in my hammock, and then ending the day with something involving chocolate.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the family that I gain from church community and the peace that comes with the knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I grew up with strong courageous parents who were wonderful examples of kindness and accepting others no matter what. It was challenging but rewarding, to be one of the few Mormons in my various schools growing up. I had to know from a young age what I believed and why I believed it. Even though my standards didn't always go along with popular opinion, I know that I was blessed for standing up for what I believed even when others would try to persuade me otherwise. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God along with the Bible, and through studying and prayer we can receive answers to our questions. I am so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross that enables us to be perfected through him and ultimately return to our Heavenly Father. No matter how hard things may get, I know that if we turn to God we will never be alone. Through him, nothing is impossible.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through treating others how I want to be treated. Life is wonderfully hard sometimes and it makes all the difference to have others helping you out along the way. I have been involved with the youth ever since I was a youth, I have spent summers helping out at church camps for teenagers and am currently the song leader for kids 18 months-12 years old. I believe that children are the best teachers of love and hope, I feel like I learn more from them than they learn from me. I have decided to serve a full time mission and will teach out in exotic Idaho! I figured that I have been given so much and it is my turn to give back.
