Hi I'm Charity Johnson

I was born and raised in Utah. I have a love for art and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've recently completed my first year of college as a freshman and will continue as a sophomore in two years. I'm majoring in Psychology and thinking about minoring in Autism Studies. I love art, and while I haven't done a lot of painting and drawing since High School I have been learning calligraphy. Beyond creating, I love experiencing the beauties of the world, whether it be through hikes or simply looking at the sky each day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've lived what I've been taught and personally know that doing so makes me a happier person. I can feel a difference when I'm living more exactly to what I know to be right, and I know that others can come to know that what my faith teaches is true. I'm a big believer in the phrase "Come and see" and I feel like that's what I had to do to know that I was a Mormon for me and not my parents. It has been a very gradual process filled with studying the Book of Mormon, prayer, and living other principles with a commitment to wanting to know they're true, but I can honestly say that my decision to be a Mormon is just that-my decision, not my parents'.

How I live my faith

For me living my faith is trying to maintain my relationship with my Heavenly Father. When I feel His guiding spirit, the Holy Ghost, then I can choose how I feel I should live His teachings. Action and serving others is a big part of my faith. I recently had a church calling devoted to serving the women around me, a Compassionate Service Committee if you will. Through my calling, I learned how to serve others with sincerity and not just because it was something I was assigned to do. Whether I fulfilled my calling or not was up to me. I had no parental or peer pressure making me feel inclined to do anything. I wasn't perfect at my calling, but I learned from it and hopefully helped a person out a time or two.
