Hi I'm Marissa Scott

California Mormon. Youngest of 4. Music. Sports. "Framily". Called to serve in Louisiana 8.31.16.

About Me

I'm born and raised in California. I love the beach, the mountains, and the snow depending on the season! I've got three siblings, three "in-law" siblings, and three nieces and nephews. I'm stepping back from college to serve the Lord and the people of Louisiana for the next 18 months. I've played sports my whole life, mostly soccer and basketball. Another big part of my life is music, playing piano most of my life and clarinet for half of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents in the church and taught well. At the age of eight, I chose to be baptized a member of this, the Lord's true church. I've learned through experience that as I strive to follow the teachings of the Book of Mormon, the bible, and the counsel of the prophets (from the scriptures and modern day) that I have greater joy, more direction, and greater purpose in life. I know that the Lord answers our prayers and as we seek guidance, comfort, peace, or anything else we desire that the Lord will provide. I know that as we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives to help us align our will with God's, we can find success and strength to overcome trials and challenges that would otherwise be difficult to face alone. I have had wonderful examples of goodly, righteous people in my parents, siblings, and church leaders who have been able to help me ponder the decisions I have made alongside the Lord throughout, my life.

How I live my faith

I've grown up in the church, serving in as many ways as possible. Over the years, I've planned youth activities, taught the young women, taught children, and my biggest service yet is devoting 18 months to serve as missionary.
