Hi I'm Risa

I live in Utah. I love to be creative. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Colorado. It is a wonderful experience where I get to help others learn about Christ. It isn't easy, but I am so grateful to have this chance to serve and show my love for God. I have a big family that I love very much. They are some of my very best friends. I also have an interest in doing art and in creative writing, especial poetry and fiction writing. I love the mountains, rain storms, and the gospel. After my mission I plan on attending college.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with the church, and grew up learning its teachings. Throughout my life I have seen how the gospel has blessed my life and the lives of those around me. I remember the joy I felt at the age of eight when I made the choice to be baptized. I believe that God is our Heavenly Father, and that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to atone for us. I have felt the Spirit witness unto me that this church is true and their is a living Prophet on the earth today. This witness, in combination with the peace and joy that comes from living the gospel teachings have gotten me though the toughest times in my life and helped me become a better person. The feelings of love I have felt are inexpressible. I want to continue to grow and become more like Christ, and I want to share the joy I have found with others.

How I live my faith

I have seen many amazing examples of service and am preparing and learning to live like those faithful examples. Because I know the Church is true following its teachings and doing service and teaching others is the most important thing to me. I feel edified when I go to church, and I have built the habit of daily prayer and scripture study. My life feels empty when I don't have the spirit to guide me, but when I do feel God's presence in my life it means everything. One of the most important things for me is family. My parents have done so well at teaching me and I want to follow their example when I become a parent myself someday.
