Hi I'm Matthew Ludwig

I grew up in rural Utah in the mountains. I plan on becoming a school teacher and an author in my spare time. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a close-knit family of fourteen kids, myself included; twelve of us are still living. I am the second youngest in my family. I was adopted when I was two and a half months old. It was an open adoption so I know both families. I was born to a single mother who was planning on going to college and already had a child, and she felt she was not able to take care of me. I enjoy running, writing, and brain games whether they be electronic, board games, Sudoku, crossword puzzles, word searches, or card games. I grew up helping with the household chores so I'm comfortable with helping out in the kitchen or working outside with animals. I'm a very outgoing person. I enjoy getting to know people and making new friends. I enjoy going to school and my previous classmates thought that I was crazy for liking school. There were only twelve kids in my graduating class, myself included. It was, and still is, a small country school. I am a total Greek Geek.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, my family attended the local Baptist Church but my parents felt like something was missing and I did as well. When my family met with some LDS missionaries I felt like what they were teaching my family was true, that what I was missing was the Gospel plan. The plan of salvation was explained by the LDS Church while the Baptist Church mentioned it and didn't explain it. The LDS Church explained what our purpose on the earth is.

How I live my faith

I am an assistant scout master. When there are people who need wood to heat their homes I will occasionally volunteer to help bring it down from the mountains and to help split it to the correct size for their stoves. I am a home teacher as well so I go visit members that I am assigned to, along with a companion, to teach them about the gospel and to be there for them. I don't go shopping, swimming, boating, go to movies, etc on Sundays. Even though those around me might swear, I won't swear or take the Lord's name in vain. I don't watch R-rated movies, unless they are filtered. I keep the Sabbath holy by spending my time with my family, attending church services, daily family scripture reading, family prayer morning and night, and participating in Family Home Evening. (Family Home Evening is usually held on a Monday evening, and typically consists of a devotional lesson, a family activity or game, and a treat. My family has Family Home Evening on Sunday because of my father's long work day during the week.)
